The Redeeming Culture of India –Dr. Ravindra Kumar

Indian Culture is evolutionary by nature. It undergoes metamorphosis in terms of social beliefs, customs, attitudes and behaviour, but it never fails to facilitate and harmonize the discordant elements as and when they arise. It starts from the individual and extends to the whole society. The Sanatana Dharma is the fountainhead of the Indian Culture. That is why; similar to the Sanatana Dharma and the Vedic-Hindu Way of Life, forbearance and tolerance, the two foremost expression of Ahimsa emerge as the chief features in the Indian Culture.
The Vedic-Hindu Way of Life is the exponent of the Sanatana Dharma. Further, the Vedic-Hindu Way of Life guides the life of the followers of the Sanatana Dharma according to its fundamentals. Large-scaled co-ordination, co-operation, harmony and welfare of one and all are the basics of the Vedic-Hindu Way of Life. In very simple words, it is the basic spirit and the purpose of the Vedic-Hindu Way of Life. Indian Culture, therefore, under the patronage of its own basic source, the Sanatana Dharma and its exponent the Vedic-Hindu Way of Life, has for thousands of years influenced varied set of values, traditions, faiths or beliefs all over the world, while keeping its identity intact. The Indian Culture has also defended and looked after the basics of all non-Indian cultures of the world, incorporating the best principles of all through its evolution.
The situation remains intact even today. India’s Culture is soothing and welfaristic for the whole world. The need of the hour is that each and everyone should cleanse his mind of all kinds of prejudices and conflicting features and get familiar with the basic spirit of Indian Culture to follow the path of the Dharma; along with this, everyone must comprehend the immensity of the Sanatana Dharma –the Vedic-Hindu Way of Life, its commitment to the universalism.
